I do not care about closed sessions being held. I was making the point that nothing is kept secret in a small town. That includes his activities.

Hey strs, IF YOU intend to strs YOU might want to educate yourself about the open meetings laws codified in the NCGS.
No business may be conducted in closed sessions.
The vote to expend money on the new office building was held in open session.
IF he foolishly runs his mouth about closed sessions he shoulda go to jail.
Mr. Greene shoulda be ignored.

He was saying as he has before that their closed sessions were not kept secret. But exactly how do you keep all of that stuff secret? When you vote to spend $23M and $10M in interest, it will become known. Just like when you fight dogs, and assault women, it will become public knowledge too.

Everyone still loves Stoney, just ask him.
dog gate (view profile) | Posted 1:10 pm, 06/25/2024 | He is certainly nothing but a distraction to be there. No citizen cares about his opinion. He has demonstrated his lack of integrity already. He lost his voice, his vote, and his opinion. No one gives a crap about him.

Well.
I've always thought that "closed sessions" were questionable. I thought that anytime the commissioners met then it was open to the public? There's no way of knowing what they say during closed sessions and that defeats the whole purpose of public meetings... the decisions were already made behind closed doors.
With Stoney resigning in disgrace, I like that he's talking about what all they did in closed session. What does he have to lose? But of course, there's no way you can trust what he says... he's a mafiano wannabe that would happily lie if it hurts the right people.
The commissioner meeting isn't the right place for it, though. That's what GoWilkes and social media are for... but I'm guessing that he doesn't want people replying and fact checking him.

If you step down from being a commissioner, I think that should ban you from meetings for a certain period of time. Maybe the remainder of your term? This would be to give time for business you were currently involved in to be resolved, ideally.

As I recall, he voted along with Sexton to cut citizens to only being able to speak one time a month. They did not want to hear from citizens. They were out voted however.
It does show his character. He feels like he is entitled, and better than regular individuals and does not have to follow the rules. Doesn't matter if laws are broken, or rules being broken. Who has been charged with various crimes? Stoney Greene. No one else but him.

Number 9 on the policy for public speakers for commissioners meetings states :"speakers shall at all times maintain proper decorum and shall make their comments in a courteous, and civil matter. PERSONAL ATTACKS will NOT be allowed. No speaker will be allowed to make vulgar, obscene, or DEFLAMATORY remarks.
So if regular citizens are held up to these rules, exactly why would some little dog killer be allowed to get by with this behavior? Sounds like another lawsuit to me.
