It is not as dire as the original poster would lead us to believe. Each of us has more than two choices in the upcoming Presidential election. We have a fairly well known Independent candidate running for President and we have a Libertarian candidate who will be on our ballots. There may be more, the Green Party often makes it to North Carolina's ballot as well as a few others, but already we have doubled our candidate pool.

If you don't like any of those choices you can get 500 of your best friends together who are registered to vote in NC, fill out some paperwork (I think it is available on-line,) and make your own candidate. Of course, there are rules, such as the paperwork has to be submitted to the State by noon 90 days before the election and some other, but it is doable. You would have to put in an hour or so's research to find out who to get recognized in other states but, that's what the 500 friends are for, right?

It might be tempting to argue that voting for an Independent or a "Third Party" is pointless. However, when one recognizes that unless one votes for the candidate with the most votes in NC, his or her vote is null and void, it becomes less of an exercise in futility.

I argue that it is better to stand up for your convictions, vote for the candidate who most represents your values even if he or she is not likely to win the election. If enough of us have the same write in candidate, Independent, or "Third" party choice the two major parties will have to acknowledge us. I like to think of it as Representative Democracy in action.

If Trump wins, he'll spend all of this time pocketing cash and exacting payback on anyone who called him out.

Being president will be second fiddle.

I'll vote for someone who hasn't been found guilty by a jury of their peers.

There were plenty of Republican choices in the primaries.

The people of the USA have very limited options in November, what are they? Well, we have an evil psychopath backed by politicians that put party before country. Or a doddering octogenarian that has a problem putting one foot in front of the other.

The other things that might be considered are: Who did best when it came to foreign relations, the economy and rebuilding the infrastructure. To whom can we credit the following:
Alienating decades old allies and sucking up to oppressive dictators.
An $8.7 trillion loan that tanked our credit.
Failing to do anything to rebuild the infrastructure.
Add to that deliberately sabotaging a bill that would have helped to considerably alleviate the illegal migrant problem, and what are we left with? The lesser of two evils!
