FactCheck.org points out that the 9.57 million number given includes "encounters at the northern border, coastal borders and airports," as well as estimated gotaways. US-Mexico border encounters since 2021 are closer to 6.5 million.
The article also shows that DHS said that "the estimated annual apprehension rate has averaged 78%, identical to the rate of the prior Administration." Well Anti if Biden's policies had stopped and removed the 9.5 million illegals instead of allowing them to enter and remain in the country you might have a point but that is not what happened
I can't find the raw numbers, this highly biased and predominately Republican White House Committee is the one that claimed 3.3 million immigrants had been released. It also claims that there have been 1.7 million known gotaways...
The FactCheck.org article I linked earlier, though, says that DHS has given a real number of immigrants released and are awaiting court proceedings after being encountered at the US-Mexico border of 2.5 million, plus 660,000 gotaways. I can only guess that the White House Committee is including encounters from the norther border, coastal borders, and airports.
The issue that people seem to have is really with the immigration court proceedings taking so long. We only have 700 immigration judges, though, with an average caseload of 5,000 cases per judge!
If each judge can review 10 cases each day, 5 days a week, it would take 2 years for someone arrested today to be reviewed.
So that's the real problem... we need more immigration judges. Doubling the number would cut the time to be reviewed to 1 year... quadrupling the number would cut it to 6 months.
The White House Committee also stated that current removals are 23% fewer than 2020. But it also points out that the number of arrests of immigrants with dangerous drug offenses is down by 47%, assault offenses are down by 35%, and sex offenses is down by 16.6%. Which means that what we have left are people with no history of serious crimes.

And yet the Trump enslaved repub's are again lining up to defeat an immigration bill that was originally their idea. The sole intent being to prevent any solution to the problem being in place before the election. They're quite willing to allow whatever social or economic disruption illegal immigration is causing to continue until their wannabe dictator is elected, God forbid! Trump and his MAGATS are a suppurating gangrenous sore on the body of the USA! Unfortunately, all we have to counter the effects of the Trump/MAGAT cancer is the wimpy DumDems lead by a career politician that's almost as inept as his opponent is evil. Let's hope the independents have enough savvy to see through the malevolence of "The Chosen One" and his MAGAT cult.

To put it another way... the Biden administration policy of hiring more border patrol agents has stopped 9.57 million border jumpers.
This is 9.57 million that would not have been stopped with Trump's failed policy.
As people that appear to be against undocumented immigration, you are happy about this. Right?

A senior House Republican expects the number of migrants encountered by federal border authorities under the Biden administration to reach 10 million by the end of this summer, a number that has never been seen in even two-term presidential administrations.
Approximately a quarter of a million migrants were encountered at the nation's borders in April, bringing the total since Feb. 1, 2021, several days after President Joe Biden took office, to 9.57 million.
This is the official government number. As with Bidenflation. the real number is much worse.
