Hence, my statement of children learning from other children?! Most families have to be a two income family. So, this does limit the ability of families to homeschool their children. Also, those private Christian schools are not free! That's why those that do not have the option of homeschooling have to be involved in their child's education. Asking them questions and teaching them morals.

NC is one of more lax states when it comes to homeschooling. However, there are still rules to be followed. The state can show up at your home and ask for your records at anytime. Even if the public school systems are teaching a more liberal curriculum, it is still a parents place to be apart of their children's education. If you don't teach your children morals that's on you. Don't blame the public school system for everything the kids learn. There are kids being taught a different standard at home and bringing that in to other kids.

Home school is not for everyone. Public schools is not for anyone. Take your pick

Fox so many of those home schools can't meet the minimum requirements. If the ones doing the teaching are not competent then the kids do not get what they need. Most parents are too busy making a living to keep tabs on what their kids are learning. I remember my grandson in kindergarden came to see me. He proudly told me he was going with a certain girl..I asked him where he was going and he stated he did not know. I asked him if he didn't think he needed to know where he was going before he went. The look of confusion was priceless. Children in kindergarden don't need girls friends or boyfriends in a romantic way. But they are being taught they do need it.to fit in.
