NW Fire desperately needs a new station. Several departments in the county do. Wilkes needs to take a page from Iredell Counties Book and start building stations for the fire departments.

After spending ridiculous amounts of money to buy land for a new fire department that was never built... here we are again!

Another $33,000 to a firm to do a study, of course. They did a study in 2010 and another in 2019... anyone remember how much those cost us?

At least now they have a $3.5 million grant from the state... still our money, of course, but at least it's coming from the left pocket instead of the right pocket...

But considering that the estimate for a new fire department in 2019 was $9 million, that still leaves a lot out of the local pocket.
