Years ago I used to try to eat black folks cooking while working in Mississippi and Louisiana. All vegetables were greasy with hog fat and cooked into mush. And served with a bottle of hot sauce... lol

Have you forgotten that collards are traditional for any New Years meal and EVERY grocery stoore, fruit stand, farmers market and mass merchant has tons of these leafy greens of goodness in stock and available for purchase?

However the Bidenomic price is so high most people cannot afford them.

And by your comments I can tell you have never been involved with making collards for a crowd or fundraiser when any large vessel that can hold water is used to wash quantities of greens be it a wash tub, livestock tub, bathtub and in some cases a washing machine!

"I slice up my garlic, but first I chop up the bacon and get all that fat going, then I put garlic, some chili peppers, and then a lot of water and a little chicken stock, and I let it go for a while before I put the greens in. And then, right? So, you get that going and all that flavor, and then I put the greens in for a couple hours, then I do vinegar, and then I cheat and do a little Tabasco," she said.
