Artifical intelligence is already sucking up electricity like a nation full of Joe's electric cars

Some people just like to have the latest technology and buy it when the cost is high.

Given time (and money) electric cars will be cheaper and better. But they alone are not the answer. Neither is cas powered cars, which will eventually be obsolet as gas will be more and more expensive to refine. There will be other solutions such as hydrogen power.

As far as AI consuming so much electrical power just to create an EV, I thing there are holes in the store. AI is a tool that may help design a better EV but not the whole design. AI uses massive amounts of data, thus energy. Artificial intelligence is a technology that allows you to generate, classify, and perform tasks like image analysis and speech recognition. Part of the Artificial Intelligence is Machine Learning whereby our technology learns from its environment to make better solutions. Robot vacuums do this well
Autonomous cars not so much yet.

Spot on.

I really don't understand why you're obsessed with electric cars. No one is saying you have to buy an electric car. You can wait until they are cheaper and better. All technology is expensive at first. Twenty five years ago DVD players were like. $1200 and by 2003 they were $30. You posted that video about Rivians yesterday claiming they were the worst EV and the whole video was actually like "I love my Rivian it's the best car ever, but I wish the radio was different and the console storage wasn't so dark!" It's like you'll just say anything to be contrarian. EVs will get better or they'll get replaced by something better.

He was an electric player. He must have been real smart since he only went to Georgetown for 2 years.

Allen Iverson, one of the best basketball players of 90s/00s.

Will AI come up with a plan to use big rubber bands to hold kinetic energy to power a car miles before consuming all our eleceticb power created from oil or will the pollution do us in first?

And who is this AI guy anyway?

Because an accelerator has never been stuck in a gas car....

I want to add it on to my list of musts to buy an electric car. "Must not runaway and crash through neighbor's house".

Make one that is the same cost as a gas car, has a range of 500 miles in any weather, fully charges in two hours, won't set my house on fire if I park in the garage, and I might be interested.
And must not runaway and crash through neighbor's house.

And this has to do with AI how?

Cybertruck Goes Rogue, Smashes Into Home Hours After Purchase

The driver had been awaiting his $109,000 Tesla truck for five years, but his joy was short-lived due to a mechanical failure that caused the back wheels to lock - a known issue that prompted Tesla to recall 4,000 Cybertrucks earlier in April, the outlet reported. Surveillance footage captured the truck gradually rolling out of the driveway before it unexpectedly accelerated downhill. Despite the driver's efforts to maneuver the 6,800-pound vehicle, it smashed into the neighboring house's back stairs and collided with a car.

Mud turtles are good eating. I don't care much for catfish.

The flow rate at Kerr Scott is not enough to support a full size nuke plant. But a series of "mini pile' type reactors might be possible. I just don't welcome the mud turtles the size of vw beetles and the catfish as big as 1500 trucks!

What we need is more nuculear power plants. There's plenty of room for one ip at the Kerr Scott ****it.

DumbBell would like us to go back to the good old horse and buggy days. But wait a minute wouldn't that be a little to progressive? I can here his distant ancestor: "Hey Ug, what are you doing?" "Hi Zog, I just invented the wheel." "What for?" "It's round so it makes it easier to move things." "So, what's wrong with dragging things, it's always worked for me?"

I guess DumbBell needs to go way back before the buggy!

Electric cars will never become the standard for transportation in the USA. Not with today's technology.

Guess we are going to have to improve our technology.

guess we are just going to have to fix the grid.

The Washington Post ran a lengthy article last week bemoaning the fact that AI (artificial intelligence) is sucking up so much power that it's already straining the nation's electric grid and is bad for the environment.

So, how will the grid be able to handle the millions of electric cars environmentalists want to force on the road? One wacky solution may shock you. No pun intended. They're going to suck the juice back out of your electric car battery. Never mind that it will shorten the life of the battery.
