Stocks may be up, but the dollar buys less.
And, that weakened dollar has to be used every week at the grocery store and gas pump.

Our middle class is being strangled slowly.

Then why in Hades aren't you voting for the only candidate that their entire campaign is focused on the "middle class"??

We all know the answer to that, because she is of mixed race and more importantly she's a woman!
you fella's are so weak minded you've completely blinded yourself with orange.

and to answer the question, yes I am absolutely much better off than I was 4 and especially eight years ago!!!!

No mortgages, no credit balances of any sort and more savings!

are everyday items more, absolutely they are, yet you all refuse to check in on corporate profits.
You all refuse to admit that almost 3 years of COVID under the Orange... who mind you did everything he could to ignore the pandemic....almost devistated our economy and now these last 3 years, the corporations are making up for those losses.

You all would rather piss and moan constantly rather than adjust your spending, it's not really all that difficult just takes a little discipline....of as we see most of you don't have!!!!

No. Groceries are much higher, as is gasoline, car insurance, car repairs, medical, and dental . And I don't work enough hours to save any money.

Not exactly... Trump's policies raised the Debt to GDP Ratio to a record high, even before COVID. And then Trump's policies causes the US to have the worst response to COVID than any other first world nation.

DB mentioned high housing prices, which the Fed said was caused by Trump's immigration policies which reduced construction labor and increased labor costs.

The facts show that Biden's term was mostly trying to fix what Trump's failures broke.

So, even your rosy statistics show that Biden has done no better than Trump.

If all things are equal, I prefer to go back to Comfy old Conservatism.

September 2020... the United States of America had 5,648,154 new cases of COVID-19 reported and 23,329 COVID-19 deaths...

The unemployment rate was 7.8%, with 13 million unemployed...

Wages grew at 3.5% while inflation grew at 1.4%. That compares to July 2024 (the last time the rates were reported) when wages grew at 4.7% and inflation grew by 2.9%. The difference is 0.3 points, so essentially identical.

The Dow Jones hit 33,588.08 in September 2020. That compares to 41,096.77 today... an increase of just under 23%, which means that most people's retirement accounts increased at the same right.

Inflation increases 21.6% from 2020 to today, so even inflation adjusted that's a significant improvement.

I'm struggling to think of anything that's not better than 4 years ago.

Yeah, thats literally what life is about.

You can choose whine and play victim, or you can learn to deal with a problem and move on.

So the leftist answer is "adapt to less".
