That's not how tariffs work.
The tariffs didn't increase their overhead to build overseas, that's ridiculous. What it did was add a tax to the product before it could be imported into the US.
They were still able to offer lower prices to the other 7.8 billion people in the world.
All it did was raise OUR prices. The manufacturers made the same money either way.

Moose, in the other thread you've already admitted that Trump's tariffs on China is one of the primary causes of the hyper inflation that we all know began in 2020.

My wife and I are retired and living on a fixed income, we were doing OK until Georgie dumped the economy '07. When he took USA from having a surplus to massive debt, he took most of our retirement income with it. Things were looking better towards the end of Obama's presidency thanks to his efforts to repair Georgie's mess, then along came Trump! Trump in his infinite fiscal wisdom borrowed $8.7 trillion to give a huge tax break to those that neither needed it nor deserved it. And yet despite the additional damage to the economy from the pandemic (badly mismanaged by Trump) we still manage to struggle on and survive. So quit your whining and if you see someone in dire straits help 'em out and stop pissing and moaning about a situation brought about by people YOU support.
