Their country style chicken, tenderloin and steak are good options, their loaded potato salad is awesome.

Thanks for the review. I have not been there in a long time. I may go back thanks to your comments.

Y'all had me thinking about chicken livers, and since I'd never been to this restaurant before we decided to give it a shot tonight. There were three of us: Melissa, her mom Peggy, and me.

If you don't know, this is on 268 West; "almost" on the lake (haha). It's a stone's throw from Interflex. I live near Rock Creek Road, so it was about a 40 minute drive for me.

We got there right at 5pm, and there was about a 15 minute wait. Not too bad, and a good sign that people like it

Seating seemed to be all tables, no booths. I know some people care about that kind of thing.

Server (Tessa?) came over almost immediately, very friendly and helped us by describing things we asked about, and making recommendations.

Peggy got the sirloin tips with mushroom gravy (could have done peppers and onions instead if she'd wanted). There were two size options, she did the smaller size. 8 ounces, I think? I don't remember now. For sides she got a loaded sweet potato and baked apples, with Texas toast.

Melissa ordered the catfish (8 ounces), which only comes fried with a salt and pepper batter. For sides she did potato wedges and Brussels sprouts, also with Texas toast.

I ordered the All You Can Eat chicken livers, also with potato wedges and Brussels sprouts, and with a roll. I could have ordered a single serving for $2 cheaper, but I hadn't had breakfast so I was feeling pretty piggy.

We didn't know it at the time, but they have a chalkboard up front with daily veggie specials. We could have gotten mashed potatoes and macaroni, but didn't know it! Oh well.

Food came out pretty quickly, no complaints about that at all. For them to be kinda busy, we honestly expected it to take longer! And the server went ahead and put in a second order for more chicken livers, which was cool. The initial order was probably around 6 ounces, and I'm guessing that if I hadn't done the All You Can Eat then that would be the normal size for a regular order.

Sirloin Tips: Peggy said the gravy was good and they were cooked properly (medium rare), but they were just a tad chewy. I can't blame the restaurant for that, though, she just had a fattier cut.

Catfish: Melissa loved it, and said she'd definitely order it again!

Chicken Livers: I thought they were great, but I grew up eating chicken livers Melissa tried one and spat it out! LOL Opinions vary, I guess!

The baked sweet potato looked awesome, and Peggy ate every bit of that. She said the apples were just OK.

The potato wedges were great, too. The server recommended honey mustard for a dip, and that was a great recommendation! I'd definitely get that again.

Brussels sprouts were undercooked, so we didn't love them. They had a light sauce (garlic butter, maybe?) and the flavor was good, just needed to be cooked a bit longer. That might have been a one-time thing, though, so I'd probably get them again.

They have "Dam" Shrimp on the menu, too, which the server described as jumbo shrimp with a hot honey glaze. That sounded delicious, and I definitely want to try that! And I'll probably get that loaded sweet potato, too.

On the way out, I saw that they had Apple Pecan Crisp on the special menu! I'm gonna be kicking myself for not trying that, I love me some apple crisp!

After taxes and tip, the total for all 3 of us was $48. I think it was $38 or so before tip, and I thought that was pretty good for 3 people!

All in all, I'd definitely go back! And I'm looking forward to trying the Dam Shrimp! If it wasn't so far away, I could definitely see going there weekly.
