That's a lie

You got this from a Trump rally with Trump once again lying

All 23 votes against FEMA funding in the House came from HOUSE REPUBLICANS

Thanks to Trump, Elon Musk, and many of their supporters FEMA had to literally design a rumor page due to misinformation.
Please STOP lying during an emergency! My family's rural community in Coastal GA is about to get hit by another hurricane, we don't have time to waste fact checking losers like you.

The Charlotte Observer just wrote a scathing indictment of how trump has lied and continues to lie about FEMA, funding and Government response.

They also call out Mike Johnson for lying and making this political to make Biden / Harris look bad.

They ALSO call out the Republican Senators who voted against this, are not lying and spreading misinformation, all because they want to negatively impact the Democrats instead of taking care of Americans who are suffering.

The Governors of the states involved have all publically praised Biden/Harris quick response and willingness to do whatever is in their power to help.

READ ALL OF THAT EASILY ONLINE.

1) I have donated and will continue to do so.

2) FEMA needs Congress to release more funds---that is not something the President can do. It's part of the checks & balances we have between branches of government.

The REPUBLICAN congress voted AGAINST increasing funds a week ago, then left for break. NOT ONE DEMOCRAT voted against FEMA funding--only Republicans.

Biden has asked Johnson to reconvene Congress so funds can be increased. Johnson has refused.

Google "republican senators who voted against FEMA aid increases Sept - Oct 2024" to see the list. All Republicans, All MAGA.

3) Thanks to Biden overhauling FEMA this term, survivors are getting an initial $750 in first funding. They do NOT have to pay it back. More funding for businesses is already in motion (thanks to Biden's overhaul), but increased direct funding to people/survivors MUST come from Congress.

4) Money for Ukraine, Immigrants, etc IS NOT ABLE TO BE TAKEN BY ANY PRESIDENT AND REALLOCATED. That is to prevent the President from having too much power. CONGRESS holds the purse strings.

Trump is not fit to be President. He lies and manipulates. Worse, he WITHHELD $600M and FEMA help in 2018 when Hurricane Matthew hit NC because Gov. Cooper is a Democrat.

Trump's OWN STAFF widely wrote about it, and there was a letter written by Cooper to Trump telling him this wasn't political--Americans were suffering. Trump still refused, even after it was published.

Trump also withheld ALL FEMA funding after the storm hit Puerto Rico for 2 weeks, during which time the death toll reached 3000. He NEVER fully funded PR or NC which is why neither fully recovered.

Trump withheld and delayed FEMA funds in California during the wildfires because we are a Blue state.

SO. Trump is unfit to lead. He is petulant and puts his own narcissist ego ahead of American citizens in need.

They give **** to illegal immigrants to come over and invade America. Now, the people of NC need help but, there is no money left.

Whatever the government gives will never be enough. There will always be whiners, usually from the folks who arent affected.

Congressionally Approved Ukraine Aid Totals $175 Billion

When someone doesn't give their source... there's usually a reason...

You are counting since 2022 for Ukraine, but we're only talking about October 2024 for Hurricane Helene relief. Not exactly apples to apples there!

If that's what you want to do, though... we've given about $89 billion to FEMA since 2022.

Looking at disbursements (money actually paid) to Ukraine...

2022: $69B
2023: $17B
2024: $1.2B

See how some news agencies will cherry pick data to make it seem like something that it's not? Like comparing 3 years to one month?

After Hurricane Matthew, the government invested close to $4 billion to help survivors. It could have been more later, that's just the number I could find as of 2017. But funding has to be requested and approved, and I'm sure that Helene's cost will be considerably higher than Matthew's.

Dont think people are worried about voting, that is a lie.

I guess when private individuals go in to rescue or recover, they can tell the victims they are entitled to 750.00 dollars since there is no power or communications. They can take the money and buy nothing because there is nothing to buy. Look at FEMA's website and one of its three core missions is equity. What does that mean in emergency management? Is this incompetence or something else? I don't think people have a true understanding of the devastation. Roads are completely gone, government and private bridges are completely gone cutting people off from the world. Insurance companies can't get in and not a priority if they could. The death toll is going to be staggering and first responders are going to need help with what they have seen. Light is starting to expose the federal government. For my liberal friends, volunteer in democrat Buncombe county but be prepare to hear more than you want about the current administration. Just heard a family that had been without food and water for days was saw by a helicopter. Their first question was where do we vote? But Kamala cares about you so much.

Government aint gonna help you either there, ****.

But it's a cute spin off from how useless insurance companies are. They will do all they can to get out paying you for what you paid into.

Oh yeah BigSow, earthquakes and riots are generally not covered by homeowners either. So if a bunch of your BLM pals pass through your neighborhood, pissed about something, and burn your house... you're on your own.

BigSal

There it is!

Thanks for showing us how useless insurance companies are! Pay into every month, every 6 months, once a year, or however you choose to pay it for what?

Isnt insurance supposed to be a safety net if you have a catastrophe? Yet youre okay paying into that system for the hopes that if you do need them, they will hold up their end.

Blaming the government for all your problems is as lazy as it gets.

BigSow, homeowners insurance does not cover floods. Flood insurance is about as expensive as a homeowner's policy. Maybe more now, it's been a few years since I delved into it.

And then there's mudslides and rock slides that may not be covered even if you have flood insurance. Slides were my main concern where I live and my insurer said I would not be covered for them if I added flood to my policy.

I don't know about the federal flood insurance program, other than when I checked it started at about $700/year and that was a while back.
