Brickyard road compound? There's a homeless camp there? Is it near the nursing home?

Maybe they could be bussed to the Brickyard Road compound. Plenty of good open fire, friendships, and freebies. This new community is closer to town, out of sight, and in the North Wilkesboro precinct. Good liberal Democrats to swoon over them and provide for their needs.

Overnight parking is not permitted at rest stops in North Carolina. In fact, North Carolina limits parking at rest stops to a maximum of four hours.

I don't disagree, toyo, but... homeless people have to be somewhere. If they can't be on private property then they don't have much of a choice but to be on public property.

Free cell phone, transportation, food , hotel room If the person could make it across the border and back

Well I would think that would not be allowed for anyone. Is this not state owned property. Someone needs to contact the DOT. (Is this considered trespassing if you stay there continually?)

My point is...they are a Registered Sex Offender for a reason. How safe does it make the rest area for people who stop there? This person is living in a vehicle on this property and has been ongoing for some time. This is not a temporary thing apparently. Also they let him use this address as his home address?? The laws should be much better than this.

I can't find any law against them being at a rest area...

It sounds like the person is homeless, but they've given the proper location which is what they're supposed to do...

That doesn't seem legal to me.

Since when does the State of NC allow registered sex offenders to camp out in their parking lot? Vehicle that this person lives in has been there for weeks now. It is also listed as this persons home address on the WCSD registered sex offender web site along with their name and photo. Check it out....Don't see how this is safe for any visitors or children. This is public record.
