The problem is that Wilkes has had decades... centuries, maybe... of brainwashing. Most people have no idea what's going on, all they know is that Republicans are good and Democrats are bad. So any Republican can beat any Democrat in Wilkes.
I'm pretty sure if Lucifer B. Satan (R) vs Jesus H. Christ (D), Lucifer would win in a landslide.
Has anyone here even done 30 seconds of research on Steve Moree or Blair Eddins? I haven't, and I'd bet that most haven't. But we all know that Eddins will still win in a landslide.

Realistically, no one can win in Wilkes without the support of the good old boys. Their party doesn't matter. If the good old boys want a Democrat to win... they will.
The only person with a chance to beat them would have to be a highly respected and beloved local celebrity... and even then it would be an uphill battle.

We've had similar problems in Ashe over the years. We threw one out of office but she keeps trying to climb back in the boat. Thank goodness the vote keep whacking her with an oar.

Local Republicans hav lost my confidence for supporting Stoney Greene.
Maybe time to change if this is what Eddie Settle, Bill Sexyon Casey Johnson, and the rest are all about.
I know I'm not supporting the financially or with our family's votes anymore
