Dude, make sure you warranty is expired before doing any diy stuff! It would suck to void a warranty!

If you have the correct tools ie screwdriver and heat gun you can fix it yourself and save a lot of money on paying someone to do it for you. Below is a link to a very good tutorial on how to fix the ylod on the ps3. It's a 3 part video. First part is disassemble, second part is actually reflowing the ps3, and third part is reassembly.
