Write protected? Help me geeks!

I looked at some of my SD cards and none have a switch, the adapter does have a switch. If this fits your problem just get a new adapter. (OR) If there are only a few photos you can view them in a paint program and do a copy screen then paste them as new images, (lots of work if you have many). (OR) From reading and depending on your system try going to regedit and to ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTE\CurrentControlSet\Control\storagedevicepolicies set writeprotect to 0 to disable or 1 to enable) but you may have already tried that.

not sure I understand.. You have pictures on it that you want to transfer off? Or you take the pics on your camera using its built in memory, then transfer them to the SD card as a medium, THEN transfer them over?
?

He said you're just screwed. There's nothing you can do about it. You'll have to buy a new micro SD to SD adapter...they're like $3 bucks...

Yes, an SD, I put my micro 8 gig in the top of it so I can plug it into my laptop

So, my memory card has a little slot on the side of it you can slide up and down, up for write protected and down for non write protected.
The slider broke off and it's stuck in write protect, so I can't transfer my picture from the camera and then to my laptop.
I've tried formatting it, took the card apart as well and can't see anything that I can slide to take it off. I also went into "regedit" and found "StorageControlPolicies" and changed the value to "0"
I know some of you brianiacs have the knowledge I seek, help a poor ignorant drunkened slob to full fill his unrelenting lust to load pics to his laptop without having to buy another memory card.
