I think it's working on Opera now. Go here and let me know:

People tend to use the browser that comes pre-loaded on their computers: IE. The geeks and the curious moved to Firefox to avoid some of the highly publicized security risks with IE.

Now Firefox is becoming more bloated with each new release and although I like the concept of plug-ins, it wasn't enough to make up for the drawbacks.

The upcoming versions of Opera are supposed to use _less_ memory than the current version. That's the right way to go. I wish Opera's email client was better. It won't do HTML formatted emails. But it's nice having your emails in a tab just like web pages.

I started using The Bat! again for email. It's not free, but it pretty much rocks.

rkba, back in the day Opera had these nasty banner ads. So on top of regular your browser was pushing more your way. You could make them go away if you sent them some money. I forgot all about Opera when FF bust on the scene. Since then, Opera went to giving it away for Free. It's suppose to be the most standards compliant browser out there. And one of the fastest too. So for web design, if it works in Opera it should work everywhere else. But this isn't always the case. That's my two cents worth on why I, and possibly more ppl don't use Opera.

That's weird, really. It appears that Opera recognizes the content.editable command, but doesn't process it at all! I've created a test page with nothing on it except for the text box and a button, and even then if you press the Submit button, nothing happens.

I've posted to a few Opera-specific message boards to see if I can figure out the problem. Until then, you'll probably have to resort to using Firefox or (gulp) Internet Explorer.

Several years ago, I downloaded a small browser called Enterprise. It was designed by a college student, and the entire program was roughly 800kb in size with no registry footprint (which means you could execute it from a floppy). It didn't have any unnecessary features, just browsing and favorites, but it was the absolute fastest browser I had ever used! Unfortunately, I can't use it anymore since, with web design, I have to make sites appeal to the masses (which means Internet Explorer), but you might enjoy looking for it.

PM'ing works OK with Opera.

Too bad more people haven't discovered Opera. It's a great browser with a nice e-mail client, newsreader, and bittorrent client built-in.

Only drawback is that it takes a little while to learn since it isn't dumbed down like the other two biggies. And it doesn't take plug-ins like Firefox. But it has widgets, which I haven't found a good use for yet.

I haven't figured it out yet, myself, but such a small number of people on there use Opera (only 2, that I know of) that it hasn't been a priority to fix.

Can you send a PM through Opera, or can you just not post to the forums?

Just wondering why Opera won't work on this site for posting messages?
