Yes, I understand that everything that is done on the computer contributes to the limit...but, according to the usage history, we were nowhere near the limit until after we were all in bed and the pc's were on standby for the night...and then there were 3 more sizeable downloads that we didn't do. There were no updates done to either computer during this time.

Thank you for the website info....our neighbors house would fall into the range unfortunatly. It just felt like an invasion of privacy of sorts for someone to just link in and use it at will...without even asking if it was okay before doing it. Thank you again for the info...looks like will be haveing a neighborly chat.

I have a question for all of you tech savy people out there. Typically, how close do you have to be to someone's wireless network to be able to tap into their internt. We only have one neighbor within a 1 mile range of the house. We put in a wireless router so our daughter could acess the internet on her laptop. We have Hughes Net satellite internet service, and are only allowed a certain amount of downloads each day otherwise it goes back to dial up speed. 2 nights ago, someone (not in our house) downloaded a ton of stuff and exceeded the threshold of allowable MB, which slowed our connection down to dial-up speed. So, I was just wondering how far can someone be from my home before they can link up to our internet service. We are working on getting it secured so noone can use it, but I would like to know this information before I confront my neighbor about it. Thank you.
