Everyone I have spoken to about Vista says wait awhile before you buy it so that all the ''bugs'' can be worked out I am happy with XP although I remember when XP came out there were a few problems with it that was all worked out so I am waiting to buy Vista or I will pay alittle more to get XP.

I hated mine until I added more memory. THe one I bought had so much stuff on it that It would freeze often. I wish I could go back to Windows XP. Good Luck!!

Vista is a piece of junk! Most of the folks in this area are purchasing XP and having someone to offload Vista and to load XP onto their 'puters. We have several programs that would not work with Vista and had to purchase patche's to make the old programs work on the new system. In my opinion, Bill Gates, should be locked up and his billions should be distributed to those that he has SCREWED over the years!

I just purchased a new Dell with Vista on it. You have to pay additional fees to downgrade to XP so I went with Vista. Microsoft always adds soooo much extra "junk" to their programs. I think Vista will grow on me once I get used to it.
One thing I did learn while researching is that you do have to get extra memory if you want Vista to work as quickly as XP did on your old computer. I've been told by several people that they had to take Vista off their brand new computer and put XP on it just so it would work efficiently. So, make sure you get plenty of memory.

Takes some getting used to. Lots of bells and whistles--just like all Microsoft upgrades. I don't like not being able to go where I want to without going thru extra steps and I find the extra tabs good sometimes but a major nuisance at others. Fortunately, you don't have to use them unless you want them.

it has good points and bad(good =seems to have better security )
(bad= your going to need to buy lots of extra memory or its going to be kind of drag a**. and it creates / chops up so many folders / files it can be hard to locate things at times) i bought a Dell 64 athlon duel core it came with 1gig of 4200 DDR2 memory .i bought an extra 2 gigs of 4200 DDR2 memory
and i'm pretty sure i'm not going to be content untill i install another 1 gig

I just bought a new laptop and after checking around with friends who have or had Vista I opted to go with XP.

I have Windows Vista on my HP desktop. Parts of it are okay, but other things about it just suck.

How many people have a computer with Windows Vista on it yet. I will be getting a new computer within the next year. I was just wondering how much better it is.
