Another thing I noticed, if you ever have the chance to choose between Vista and XP, get XP. Vista has firewall which might block certain things and from what I've heard you can't delete it. So, it is possible that downloading WPE pro will not work when you feel like being naughty in chatrooms. In other words, get XP Turkeys.

I was pretty much forced to go with Vista. My old computer was running XP and doing a great job until it crashed. The hard drive and motherboard both went. Rather than repair the old unit, it was cheaper to purchase a new unit (actually had double the memory at about 1/3 the $$$$). Vista would not allow any of the retrieved files to load nor would it accept any of the old programs that we were running. Having to purchase new products that worked fine on a 3 year old 'puter SUCKS! Also, there were 2 bookkeeping programs, Lotus, and a Payroll Service that could not have the files transferred to Vista. Bill Gates, "Do you feel lucky?" "DO YOU?"

The information I gave was pretty good for a 12 year old eh? Well, the only upside to Vista is that the boxs around the internet kick ***. And the start button it just a colorful blue botton. :D

I have heard too many negative things about Vista. I think I"m going to stick with my XP.

I have Vista and let me just say that I want XP back. With Vista, is it hard to change your IP Address, the color comtimes changes and you can't download WPE Pro to hack Chatrooms. So basically stick with XP.

I'll have to say that im currently dual booting windows xp mce , and windows vista ultimate - ill give the nod to vista right now. im not running a very serious machine and it seems to be more stable and more efficient with Vista. my current setup is amd 3000+ 512mb ati x1300 1gb ram - so pretty much bottom of the barrel stuff to todays rigs.

I have it a new laptop and i am planning on putting xp on it till more programs that i use are ported over to vista. it also seems like a resource hog. i have a gig of ram and it still seems slow, it is a hp core solo 2.0ghz 1gb ram with nvidia go6150 video processor 256 shared memory so i actually have a little over 800mb system ram. it shouldnt be this slow but o well.

I'll just stick with my present set-up --don't want to get into something that could be big headache.

I have it and so far I do not like it. As far as all the security thats ok but it is not compatable with alot of stuff. I can't even hook a printer up to it unless I special order one from Dell because I can't find a printer that is Windows Vista Compatable.

its ok. very security oriented, pretty windows, its not made for anyone wanting to wardrive. and some games are not compatible yet. if you get a version try the ultimate, or the premium versions. the basic is just that (BASIC). also make sure you have a lot of ram. at least 1gb .
