Windows 8 uses Windows 7 as the core OS... therefore it is basically the same. Although it is new and pretty much everyone's experience with it is skewed toward the bad side, Windows 8 is actually better for gaming, better for Visual manipulation like graphic design and video editing, and also the start page adds a new way to immediately have what is most important right there... although I don't like it.
There are talks about a new Windows 8 OS called Windows Blue or maybe Windows 8 Blue... all I know is the actual OS will be Windows 8.1 and from what I have researched so far Windows is talking about removing the Start tiles or Start page... or whatever you want to call that. So I am going to wait for tht to come out for my OS upgrade

Now that I have used Windows 8 for about 3 weeks I am getting adjusted and I am liking it more and more. I guess like anything new it just takes time to learn it.

I decided to download a user guide from Amazon.com (.99) and it has been a big help. So I will give Windows 8 a try. The one thing I have not been able to do is print an e-mail. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks.

Before you do that try this http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php Download and install You can add a start menu to 8 works and skip past the new metro screen during start up. It makes 8 look and work just like 7 and it is free

Yes, Windows 8 may be removed and 7 installed instead. Just make sure that you don't have anything important on the hard-drive before you format it and install Windows 7. Simply but the Windows 7 dvd in the dvd-drive when booting up the computer and follow the steps. Also what you can do is keep windows 8 and create a new partition on your pc for windows 7. Install windows 7 on that new partition and that way if you still wanted to try Windows 8, you would have a dual boot setup and could choose either one on boot.

I purchased a laptop that has Windows 8 and I don't think I like it. Does anyone have an opinion on Windows 8? Also can Windows 8 be removed and Windows 7 be installed? It is not touch screen.
