Try Opera and you'll never look at IE, or even Firefox, the same. Opera is lightning fast at loading pages.

Tonight I am lovin' Windows 7. Took a minute, and lots of glitches initially, but this OS is really friendly.

That was a good guess! I will try the zoom!

This is an educated guess, but I would think that your monitor doesn't have a standard 4:3 resolution, but instead is using 16:9 (cinema style).
When someone builds a website, they can either choose to make elements take up a percentage of the screen, or have a fixed width. Websites that include a lot of text (like GoWilkes) usually have a fixed width, because it's harder to line up images when you don't know where the text will go.
If it's more of a "zoom" problem, then your browser most likely has a Zoom option. IE8 has a zoom menu in the lower right corner (just above the clock), or you can go to View > Zoom.

OK! Now I have another problem. Maybe Jason knows the answer regarding GoWilkes. GoWilkes and several other web pages will not open in full screen. Youtube, Google, Yahoo, all open in full screen but I am down to around netbook views on a 17" screen on this website and others. Big Black Bars on both sides. YUCK! Anyhoo, after another 2 hours with tech support they told me that I could just wait for updates. Oh brother.

Well, I think I solved the problem until Windows7 comes up with a fix. I installed Firefox and have to switch browsers for the slow sites. Huge pain, but at least I am moving faster now. I hope they come up with an update or reg fix soon, but it is something to consider when upgrading.

OK. So I really like windows7 except for a really pesky problem. Some web pages are slower to load than dial-up and none of the fixes have worked. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. Deleted History and Files and Cookies. Sent the administrative command regsvr32actxprxy.dll, which I read some folks had success with online, but holy cow, this is such a bother. GoWilkes comes up fine, heavy media content sites like youtube work ok, but other favorite sites are just, well not worth the wait. ARRGGHH. Any one heard of a fix that I have not tried?
