Why does my computer take hours to reboot

I have a system running Vista Home Premium, and it's the slowest booting thing I've ever seen. It's not that old (late '07/early '08), and has plenty of memory. But my netbook...and original EEEPC 701g boots, and is stable and usable, in about 40 seconds.

Agree Harddrive is possibly failing . Also coud be a memory stick or power supply.

Try running cleanup, defrag, and have Ccleaner fix the registry errors, and defrag the regisrty with Auslogics Registry Defrag . In that order.
You can even have Ccleaner do the cleanup part.
Make sure there is no Malware/adware/spyware by running Spybot, Ad-aware, or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. All files can be downloaded at www.download.com and are free.

sounds like a hardware problem. Possibly the hard drive.
