Depends on what model Kindle you're referring to. If you're talking about the 7" HD model then here is a chart

Google Nexus has full blown play store where as Kindle Fire is limited to Amazon app store. Google Nexus also has a lot better specs than the kindle fire does. Personally I have the HD 7" running Kinology 3.1 with TWRP recovery. It does everything that I want it to, plus I have the Google play store on the Kindle Fire HD.

The Nexus is more powerful, has a rear facing camera, play store, more internal storage, higher resolution, and the list goes on....

How does it compare to the Kindle Fire?

I have the 10" Google Nexus. Love it, read a lot of books from Google Play. Plus the Anchor apps you can find an app for anything you want to do. I use it most of the time instead of my tablet
