Change the monitor resolution to 1024x768. This is the most common resolution, and the one for which most sites are "optimized". To do so in Windows 7, right-click on the desktop, then go to "Screen Resolution". Change the drop menu appropriately.
With a large monitor, this will probably make everything look pretty big. I've heard that complaint many times, but I'm always a little surprised... isn't the point of a larger monitor to make everything larger?
You CAN increase the resolution if you like (which is not uncommon for larger monitors), which technically would make everything on the page look smaller. But since most websites with a lot of content are designed for the most common resolutions then you should expect aesthetic problems along the way.
Once you're finished with the resolution, come back to your browser, and change your "Zoom" back to 100%. If you used the Ctrl+Mouse Wheel feature, then you may want to revert it back to the default, too.

It's the forced scale frames for the ads on the side. You can keep zooming/unzooming as necessary but that's about it. The other answer is that you can view it in IE, but that's not a good answer.

I recently bought a new computer and got a 23 inch monitor with it. I have google chrome and have zoomed the page to fit the screen but on this website and the bank of america one, it looks small. Is there anything I can do to make these sites fit the screen?
