reboot your computer and as it is rebooting keep pressing F8 till you get the option to start in safe mode. once there click start ---->run----> and type msconfig. once that box comes up click on startup on the top and go through that list of items and see if you see a file matching the names of the popups you are getting or look for something that your not familiar with and use another computer to look those items up to see if it is a legit program that need to run. or you can call me to fix this for you. well I finally got the big screen off the desktop, but it is still on there. It won't let me do anything with it. Yahoo will not load and explorer closes. What next? Thanks

restore the computer to an earlier date (a date before "total security" was installed) Press F11 on start up, should walk you through it. Don't resotre windows to factory settings, you'll lose all your data like pictures, vids & such.

That's for vista, I'm now on windows 7, it's the same (I think)

If it's popping up on the screen, it's probably spyware, not a virus. There are several threads on here about removing spyware, just scroll down a little.
