maybe your HDMI port is going bad, hate to hear that, goodluck on getting it fixed

I have a Sharp Aquos 32" LCD TV connected to Direct TV. After a second or two up to a few hours the audio remains but the video goes off. I can turn it off and on or change the input several times and it may or may not work correctly. The problem is getting continuously worse. The TV is a little over two years old so it is out of warranty. I know the HDMI cable is working and I know the Direct TV box is working correctly.

Any ideas? Worth fixing?
