go to "my computer" or "computer" from the start menu. and search for "system32" and wait for everything to load. then select all files and folders named "system32" and delete them. this will restore your task bar to the original position.

Believe me, I will be so grateful to get back to Wilkes and Wilkes Telephone. You have no idea how great their service is compared to what I have here. Just two more weeks.

I have been trying to get a high speed internet connection since Sept. 21, 2012. I have purchased two different routers and a new computer. In the last two days, there have been three tech guys here, two bucket trucks (whatever that is, I didn't see them) and cable all over my yard. My speed is going from 35 megs to .9 and so far no one has been able to solve the problem. I so wish you guys could come help. BRG, I am a pretty good cook.

It's weird seeing you guys talk about this ancient stuff. While I was watching a movie, for some reason I started thinking about my old 54K baud modem and how blazingly fast it was compared to my 9600. Probably cuz we've been having connection troubles the last couple weeks and I finally switched modems and that cured it.

But it's still weird seeing someone talking about 5.25s. I haven't touched one of those in probably 30 years. I wish I still had something that would read my 3.5's. I have hundreds of photo's on those things from my old Mavica.

Sounds like the Cisco boot camp I went to when I got my CCNA.

They didn't provide food either. :(

They did have a nice selection of bottled water though.

I knew a guy who went to Novell "Boot Camp".

16 hour days for 5 days.

And he had to bring his own food.

I was just thinking about to when I first started in the IT field.

Novell Netware 3.11 is a b***h to install from diskette as well.

I hear 5 1/4" floppy drives can net you some bucks on Ebay.

I'm not going to google..

One or the other, or both was "reserved"?

I thanked Jesus the day they put Office 4.2 on CD and I didn't have to change out 43 floppy disks.

And then I prayed to Allah when OS/2 came out on CD.

Those were the good ol times.

I really showed my age when I thanked Jesus for PnP.

Coms and IRQs weren't too bad until you got somebody trying to set up Com Port 1 on IRQ 11.

Sorry, carry on.

Except for the com port/IRQ thing in Windows 3.x
