As far as the Kindle Fire goes, you will need a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter/cable before you're able to watch anything. There are so many options available for you to choose, and only you will know which one works best for you.

All you need is an HDMI cable provided your tv has place for one. I also use the HDMI cable from my kindle hd and watch Netflix on my tv with that.

Use XBMC as the base app for it as well and it will open up a whole new world for you.

ComputerTek is right on the money.

I personally love using a small form factor PC as an HTPC(home theater PC) that sits behind my television. Using HDMI to the television and a wireless keyboard with a multi-touchpad works very well. Throw cable out the window and go with Netflix and Hulu for all TV shows and Movies they have available and you will save more money than you could imagine. Also, you will not be limited to what you can do with your TV. Browse the internet, play small games, watch movies all in one box.

Some of the smaller HTPC towers are pretty cheap these days, and they have just what it takes to make this option a top priority these days.

A WDTV live box would work for you... it's $89 (I think that also is for the one that has a wireless adapter in it... you might be looking at $109).

D-Link, netgear, roku boxes, smart tvs, smart app blu ray player. All of those devices are capable of streaming those services. I use a ps3 in my living room to stream netflix, hulu, vudu, youtube and etc.. I use a Samsung Smart-App Blu-ray Player in the bedrooms to be able to stream the apps from the blu-ray player.

There are plenty of options to use, and it's kind of up to you to decide on which one will work best for you.

pretty much any game console, but if you don't have one of those or don't want one you can always buy a Smart kit for your tv that allows it to use hulu youtube facebook, etc.

And you can always hook your PC into a tv, but I don't recommend that for anything less than a permanent fix.
