Just to make sure there is no doubt, I was not refering to RG with my comment. I respect RG and would never call him an idiot.
I was refering to the idiot that cant figure out anything unless someone draws him a picture with crayons and macaroni glued on construction paper

I"n RG's defense, I normally get faster results from the asheville server as well from work, which has a VERY fat pipe to the internet.
Keep in mind that sometimes there are other routers between you and the speedtest site which will skew your results...

I can run a test on the Hickory server, Fins, but it is tonight about 50 percent slower than Asheville...about 12-15mbps. Asheville is 30-32mbps at my house. Toinght Greensboro is about 19mbps.
I'm not disputing that the Hickory server returns errors...you and I may just not be "hitting" it at the same times.

| I think the hickory server is screwed up. Ive never gotten a good test from it. Most of the time I even get an error back.

If you use Speedtest, you'll likely get the fastest speeds off the Asheville server. I know that's counter-intuitive because Hickory and Greensboro are closer. But in my experience from here in Wilkes, the Asheville server SCREAMS! It's sometimes 30-40 percent faster.

I use Speedtest.net. I get the fastest speeds consistently off their Asheville server. I'm nominally connected at 25mbps, but 28-30mbps is fairly common. I even get 14mbps or higher over my old Wireless G router to my Archos 5 Android tablet...basically a smartphone minus the phone, using the free Speedtest.net app from the Android market.

www.2wire.com is a good one... there is one that the charter people use, you can bounce off IP's all around country, but not remember it.

Call the IP and ask if they are having problems if not then explain what is going on with your Computer....if that does not work then take it too Steve Johnson Express Computer Clinic 336 973 0300 he does a great job and will tell you if you need any thing done...he will do only what you authorize and no more....he is a busy man but he does a great job have taken both my CPU and LapTop and they are working fine....good luck

What is a site that I can test the speed of my computer. It is dragging this morning. I think it is the IP and not my computer though.
