is it cod4 or cod5?

If cod4, I know they had the mic bug...as odd as this sounds...plug a mic into the microphone or line-in jack on the pc, then try again. If you dont have a mic, plug in a pair of earphones or something else - doesnt matter what, just make sure there is a physical plug there...and try to launch it again..

dont know if they fixed this for cod5 or not...

A quick google revealed....

Update your video card drivers.

Got a problem. Fresh install of XP Home SP3. Installed CALL OF DUTY . The game will try to start the screen flashes 1-2 times and then nothing. Anyone have any ideas? 3.0 P4, 3g ddr, nvidia 8400 video. (The game worked ok before format.)
