It's definately the video driver when the video settings don't allow for size changing. If you know what graphic card is in your machine go to their website and download the latest driver. If you don't know then try this ... http://driverzone.com/category.php?cat=1 .

I was thinking you set ie to full screen mode.
Also watch automatic updates for a new video driver.
Nvidia is sometimes has problems with windows update
what video card do you have?

Since restore worked it probably was a corrupted video driver, might not be a bad idea to go ahead and find one to download if you don't already have it, just in case

GOOD JOB

I tried everything, finally I restored to 08-05-11 and everything went back to normal. I am sure it is not a permanent fix as it went haywire so suddenly. But for now, I am alot happier. Thanks for trying to help RedNeckHillbilly. I really appreciate your responses.

1- The size buttons are usually on front bottom or right front side and some, but not many, are done thro software.

2- Size not available could mean your video driver has been corrupted, what version of windows are you using?

Where are the sizing buttons on the monitor? I went to properties and there was nowhere to change the resolution. It said size not available. I am getting ready to trash the dang thing.

it could also be the "sizeing" buttons on your monitor

With Windows xp right click-(in an empty area of desktop) properties -setting and change to a higher resolution

with vista & windows 7 right click - on an empty area and select resolution
