I got a Funai SV2000 DVD Recorder for Christmas last year. It was less than 100.00. You can hook your VCR to it and record your tapes to DVD. There are probably others out there for about that price. There are probably better ones out there too, but it works for me. I've had no problem recording VCR or TV to DVDRs and DVDRWs.

anyone know which brand of vhs/dvd player/recorder i need to buy to record my antique vhs tapes onto cd / dvd before they reach half life and i need to buy the dvd anyway? i would prefer to buy a new vhs/dvd recorder than spend a small fortune on the dvd version of a perfectly good vhs tape. i'm know as being tite, but i prefer to think of myself as careful and frugal. thanx ahead of time for any and all pointers.
