Resell it if it works good lot will buy it as if recycle you get nothing

I have an older model laptop that I bought used when I was in college. I recently had it upgraded with more memory and added a wireless internet card with a disc player/burner. Now I never use it. Is it worth it to try and resell it or should I simply recycle? With the price of new laptop's being so low, I just thought I would not be able to get anything out of it. What do you think?
