JD -It does have free channels and movies. Right now they even have their own shark week going on which is cool. I dont think it connects to a smart TV yet, but I know theyre working on a set top box to be released late this year which will essentially turn any TV into a smart TV and stream all the rabbit tv content.

The doc is an idiot. There are plenty of articles available on people that have been charged and fined for piracy. Also, the royalty companies, like BMI, have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER, lost a case. But by all means doc, please keep pirating content.
Unlike the doc, I don't do this stuff as a hobby.

I have around 40 credits in business/criminal justice. I don't need to look it up; there's very little I don't know about copyright laws.
But hey, I'll play your little game.
"Using a file-sharing network like Kazaa or BitTorrent to freely download copyrighted music is illegal — unless the copyright owner (the artist, the music label, or someone else) gives permission for the music to be freely distributed." "If you're illegally downloading music from P2P file - sharing applications like KaZaA, BitTorrent, or Limwire not only is your computer at risk for viruses, but you're at risk for school suspension, heavy fines, and even criminal charges. You most likely already know downloading music for free is illegal, but do you know how easy it is to get caught?"
"When we want new music, there's a strong temptation to get it for free through file sharing, ripping it from our friends, or downloading it illegally"
"We had the thing a couple of years ago when individuals were being sued by record labels for stealing music with illegal downloads on the computer. One college student was ordered to pay $700,000, while another woman ordered to pay $250,000 because her son was illegally downloading. The Supreme Court has now said those are valid rulings and appropriate penalties."

Just look it up. I am right and if you just look it up you can see I am right.

As long as the item is copyrighted and you don't own it, then downloading it(for free) is illegal.
I can't tell if you're just trolling the other members, or just stupid.

It is illegal to sell copyrighted material but it is not illegal to download copyrighted material. It is illegal to copy a movie and give it to a friend. If you download a movie and give it to a friend , it is also illegal. However, to download a movie and keep it yourself, that is not illegal.

It is not even a civil crime to download movies or music. The supreme court has already rules any thing on the web is public domain. You are talking to an expert on this subject.

I said tell the publishers, not the cops.
The cops can't do anything without orders from the copyright owners.
As it's not a criminal case, it is a civil.
Which is why I said tell the publisher.
Go take a look at any cd/dvd/game that was purchased legally. 9/10 have it stated very clearly that any non-authorized use/coping of said product will be punished by law. Downloading/streaming is not an authorized use.

I happen to be an expert on this subject. I know of what I speak. You are just repeating the same old rhetoric over and over. Believe you me, if it was illegal I would be in jail. I did this for years and everyone knew I did it.
Note from GoNC: a portion of this post was removed because it was off topic.

Go to thepiratebay.se, download a few movies/albums and send an email to the publishers of those movie stating that you did and that there's nothing they can do because you think it is legal.
I dare you.
And just for the record, the RIAA's website lists the minimum fine for downloading copyrighted music as $750 PER SONG.
Go download a few albums and let the publishers know. Seriously, I dare you.

DHawkins (view profile) | Posted 1:34 pm, 08/13/2014 | Wait, what programs come on after they are aired? News and such? I tried it when it first came out, and it was nothing but links to free programs already on the web. Basically it was just a compilation of all of the free programs(and I believe it even linked you to the pirated websites that illegally had the material uploaded, which could get YOU in trouble if you viewed it)
For instance, for South Park, it would basically just link you to the comedy central website.

There is so much misinformation in this post. First of all, it is not illegal to download anything you find on the web except for child p**n. It is illegal to upload some programs and you can get in trouble for that. Yes, rabbit tv does just give you links to programs already on the web but it would take days or months to put those web site in place on your PC. For only $10.00 I think that is a good bargain considering the work you would have to put in to find all those programs and movies. The only problem I have with rabbit tv is all the commercials but they have to pay for their produce somehow..

I have rabbit tv and it is good. You can watch many movies for free and you can purchase netflix and HBO if you want. You can get all the tv programs including news. The shows come on about 4 hours after they do on tv but you can watch them anytime you want after that and as many times as you want. You can get a rabbit tv device for $10.00 and just the internet from charter for $39.99 a month. Just get a cable from Wal Mart that runs from your PC to your tv. I love it.

Has to be used on a PC.
All it is is a collection of all of the free tv shows that you can find online anyways. You are paying for them to make it easy for you to find, not for the actual programs.

Bought a digital converter for my TV, also an RCA Passive indoor antenna enclosed that you can hang on the wall or put it where you can get the best reception. I only get Channel 12 and the Channel 12 ME channel where I live but that is good enough for me as I was paying 79 dollars a month to watch TV before and I don't watch that much TV.
