there are a few options

you need to enable printer sharing on you desktop and put both your PC 's in the same workgroup

or
you should be able to install the printer from CD DVD to the new laptop and it should work

How can I connect a wireless printer from a desktop to a laptop. It keeps saying error when I try to do it. The printer is a HP eprint wireless. Thank you.
