yeah!.. they have that crappy lookin vista compatible sticker on them.
walmart has some really inexpensive Lexmark printers on thier web site
with $0.97 shipping

I think that is my only option because I can't find the disk, Thanks Satan. Do you know if the new printers say vista compatable or do I just assume.

i would unhook it carry it to the back door
and see how far i could throw it

try putting cd in letting it fail close it out (leave cd in drive) then open and run as administrator from
"computer" (the drive its in)in windows

It won't even install it says failur to launch set up wizard or something like that. I downloaded the driver from Lexmark.com

or open help & support ... type "compatibility wizard" in the search box
follow the prompts (basically gives same steps i listed)

i havent even tried installing a printer yet in vista ... but
open your control panel
.. open printers
right click the printer in question (opens a menu) rightclick properties opens another menu there should be a compatibility tab check the box that says run in windows xp click apply .

right click it then click properties and check and apply run in windows xp box) it has worked on most programs i've tried

I have an older model Lexmark..model X5270..I was able to get a "patch" for it...can't remember exactly where, but want to say that it was through the mfg.

Not really, have to get another one that is Vista compatible. Or you could go to the manufacturer's website and see if they have any drivers for it that are.
Not much more you can do with it.
