ahh i love those computers. Does it power on long enough to see the blue lights on the sound bar come on then recycle power? if so you need to have your GPU reflowed or contact hp for a replacement motherboard which will cost you 280 dollars with a turn around time of 7 to 9 days. I can fix thses about 75% of the time. time and materials will cost you 75 dollars and I cant promise that it will be fixed for ever. These laptops have a solder under the GPU that is weak and brittle and they overheat alot which inturn unsolders the GPU. BUT if this is not your problem the power connector is apart from the motherboard and can be replaced. if you need my services contact me at 336 262 2945 or http://www.pro-tech.5u.com
I have performed this service many times with 75% success rate. 100% on power connector replacement

It sure can be fixed. sometimes the power source input is seperate from the the motherboard and can be easily replaced. Are you sure its where you plug the adapter in at and not the adapter its self?
