Nope. I have done it a few times on others computers who have forgot their password.

Uh, I think that only works if there was never a password created for the Administrator account.

All you have to do is Restart the computer in the safe mode and enter a new password. Won't cost you anything.

You could download Barts PE and make a bootup CD and change the password that way.

This looks promising, if you have your XP install disk.

Would pulling the CMOS battery out for a few minutes work?

Download an iso image of UBCD (google it), and boot to it. It has several utilities that will either display the admin password, or allow you to change it to something that you know. It's free software.

xp should ask you if you forgot your pass word when you try to log in with a wrong password it provides a link to click on just under the password box to get a hint for what your password is if you went to the trouble of putting one in

I should have also mentioned PowerSuite:

http://www.spotmau.com/prod...

This is a software bundle that has several programs, including one to reset your password. It's a $35 package, and it might be a smarter investment if you were planning to spend $65, anyway.

I was researching this one online, and found a few references to this program:

http://www.loginrecovery.com/

Several people that write tutorials seem to recommend the service, so it's worth checking out.

This one is a little more complicated, but is faster and seems more secure to me:
