Can you try to go to the Device Manager, and where it says dvd rom drive, uninstall the driver for it, and restart the PC. When it restarts, Windows will detect the device and install a driver for it. See if this will help fix the issue.

Yes I have restarted it. Also went to My Computer and hit the eject there.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a Dell and my drawer will not open. I do not have the little hole at the door. I went to My Computer and click eject but it did not open.
Any suggestion.

Whatever you do, don't do as one user said and put a paperclip inside to pry it open, that can actually break gears and belts. The best thing to do is make sure it is hooked up to the computers power supply and motherboard properly, and then try right clicking on it in "My Computer" and using "Eject" command.

The reason why the door on the CD drive on your computer jammed up on you is most likely debris in the gear mechanism of the drive. If you smoke around your computer, the tar from the smoke will over time cause the door to jam.

There should be a very small hole in the front of the cd-rom. Get a paper clip or something similar and push straight in. It will open the tray enough for you to pull the rest of the way.

Does the power light on the front of the cdrom drive come on at all when you press the button? If not check inside the case to make sure that the cable is hooked up to it.
