Did running a hardline to your pc fix the issues?

I tried updating everything, but it still does it. I went to NBC's website, and their videos show the quality of the signal that's coming through. At first it shows an Excellent signal, then it drops down to Poor within a few seconds.

I have a Roku box sitting on top of the laptop and it has a good signal, so I don't know why it would be the wireless connection. Bad wireless modem in the laptop or something?

Plugging it right in to the router isn't too easy, but I'll try that next.

Try plugging your laptop directly into your router, ie; use network adapter vs wireless and try watching netflix. If it works, then you have a degraded wireless connection.

Try updating Adobe flash and also Silver light. Netflix uses Silver light to stream the content. Make sure that all of your cache and history is cleaned from the browser(s) as well. Use a program called CCleaner or Glary's utilities to help with this process. Netflix only requires 1.5 mb/sec for streaming, so the connection isn't an issue. Also go to your settings page on your Netflix account and go to where it says Manage Video Quality, and try to lower it down, and see if it'll help with the Videos.

Need any more help, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
Chris

I have a laptop that connects to the internet with a wireless router. I have it connected to a TV, so I can use it to watch Netflix and other online movie sites.

When I watch a movie through the built-in DVD player, it plays nice and fast, like usual. And if I'm looking at websites like GoWilkes, they usually load pretty fast. But when I try to watch a video online, it's very slow and jumps around a lot.

I've scanned for viruses and didn't find anything. I've also uninstalled a bunch of stuff that I don't use, so there's not much more on this laptop than a web browser.

I went to speedtest.net, and it says my download speed is just over 3 M, and upload speed is 0.47 M.

What else can I do to make online videos run like normal?
