So you were able to identify the motherboard and Download a sound driver???

You need to know the manufacture..


If it is a home bulit the mother board model number is normally under the AGP slot

Windows xp. I did that and when I click on file and then snap in it just says console root and nothing else and when I click that it does nothing. Thank you.

When I click on add snap in it says console root and that is it, no device manager. Type my make and model numbers where, there is nothing there to type in. Thank you.

Hello

First you need to look at device manger

click start button
type "MMC" into search bar or run box
Click FILE
Click ADD SNAP IN
Click Device manger
Click on the folder


Is the anything listed under sound?
if there is a yellow mark or red mark it has a driver issue or is manually disabled

if not

Is your sound card part of the motherboard or a PCI card?

if it is built onto the mother board Post the make model number

If it is a PCI card make sure the card it installed tightly into the PCI slot

I have a new hard drive and have no volume. When I go to sounds and audio devices properties, it says no audio device. Any advice how I can turn my volume on?
