have you tried uninstalling the sound and then rebooting? i know sometimes that fixes things cause after it reboots it will re install.

The sounds worked before on the TV with this laptop. Only one big cord with a wide connection on both ends plugs straight into the TV

then again your tv could be like mine and have no audio in jacks
i can run video in from my comp but not sound
its just the way vizio built my tv
dvd,vcr cable box all let sound go in but not pc

you more than likely need a sound card.
your laptop might have a speaker and microphone jack that you could plug pc speakers into

When I plug the cord going from my laptop to my plazma tv I get the video but no sound. What needs to be done? Have I cut something off? The sound is still coming through my laptop speakers.
