Mac's are easier to use as far as maintenance and boot-up times, etc. Only downside is cost. If you need to still run Windows programs at times, just make sure you get a good enough system to put both operating systems onboard. I keep both around, and I'll tell you I go to the Mac more because of fast boot-up and less time spent dealing with updates and anti-virus crap. On Apple laptops, there has been a problem with battery life and heat over the years, but I find them to be about on par with any PC-based hardware now.

The Mac OS requires special hardwear in a PC in order to be able to install it and run properly. I wouldn't advise it. Lot's of people love Macs. I don't see any bad points, many people would also say that Mac programs are better than Windows'. I would advise trying out a Mac somewhere before buying one, it's a matter of preference.

Why not buy a PC and install the Mac OS on it, or get it installed? Could save you a bundle..
