i bought a new dell amd athlon duel core about 8 months ago at wm for $600.00 added extra memory and a video card its done everything i've asked it to do with the exception of a couple of compatibility issues because of the vista os (vista's kind of a pain till you get used to it)
just depends on what you wanna do and what you like pc wise
if your comp is just a little slow adding memory is a cheap cost effective upgrade unless you have already added memory it probably came with the bare minimum ..$25-$50-$75 will make you think zooommm!!!

Hubby and I are considering getting a newer desktop. We currently have a Dell but it is very slow and getting kind of ancient. Here is some info on what I want and could you give me advice on what systems might be good for us?

I burn CD's and home movie DVD's/picture DVD's. Kids play lots of games but it's simple stuff like Nickolodean stuff. We use MySpace and Google lots. I use it to work on my book and basic odd and end stuff. I def. want MS with it. What is a good system that is reputable and speedy? (We have broadband now)...
