If you want internet you will need an ISP (charter is a ISP) so if you have charter high speed internet you need to see if you are getting a ip address. make sure your computer is connected to the modem from charter (if you dont have a router) then make sure all the connection for the modem are secure ( cable line in and the cat 5 cable going to your pc and ac adapter) if all is connected well hit these two buttons together. the windows button under the "z" key and "r" at the same time to bring up a run command box in there type cmd and hit enter now you have a "dos" command box type ipconfig to see if you get an IP address subnet mask and gateway. if you get a 169.254.xxx.xxx address your not getting a correct address. or call me ProTech Networks (JOey) 336 262 2945
