when I put os disk in it will not load so how could i do that if you could pm me and help me i dont know how to do a lot of fixing things on the computer big words and i dont get along thanks

Sounds like you have lost your boot files. If you run the os disk click on R for repair and write a new boot sector to the drive that should help you get back into the files. Hope this helps.

it loads up to the login screen and when u login it just goes to the dell background and no icons no start taskbar nothing the only way i can get it to do anything is press the f2 ,f8 or f12 at startup i do have the os disk but it wount do anything dell tech support said that i would need to get someone to do a backup on the harddrive before i can do a system restore on my system they told me how to do the system restore but i dont want to do it till i back up pics and files have home office stuff that i had not gotten backed up yet and really need my computer back up asap

Do you have an os disk? You can run a system repair and probably fix it if it is a boot up problem. You didn"t specify if the pc will boot or you just can't open the files.

I have a dell dem 3400 or 3000 and the operating system has went down per dell tech support it is only a year old i'm needing to find someone that can help me to back up my files i cant get them to open or do any thing. dell said that there is a way a profess. can work on it to back everything up before i do a complete system restore on it that will wipe everything out and bring system back up to new status. i need help. hate having to wait in line to use husbands work laptop. he is always on it. i want my computer back asap!
