Never had a need to use anything but Bearshare. I like the old version 5.2.1 because it doesn't have as much adware. There is one program called "Save", but you can boot into safemode and delete that program folder if it bugs you.

the best program you can possibly use to download music is bittorrent, with this program you can download the artists entire album with a single download instead of having to find each song seperately.

Better yet, go to www.download.com and download Frostwire. It is based on the code for Limewire pro and is free without all the hassle.

Get Limewire free and look for Limewire Pro for free download.
It MIGHT be an older version but what the heck. Try it.
