Just hit the HP website.

Look for the Support section.

Then (possibly) something like "Downloads and Drivers".

BRG ... thanks. The link won't work though can you repost please?

pk ... I have both the pad and eraser type and a wireless. I'll try to clean it. I have no idea how to disable though. I'll try to google it.

Is it common that all of these would have the same problem? I'm thinking it's a driver issue. Maybe check HP website??

If they need to know how to do that, they can ask or google it. Otherwise, best of luck on the runaway mouse.

"If it has a pad instead, you'll probably have to disable it"

If they knew how to do that,

They would not need our advice?

Is it the kind with the little pencil eraser style pointer? If so, pull the tip off (ya it pops off), get a can of air and blast the fool out of it. Then put it back on, and you should be fine.

If it has a pad instead, you'll probably have to disable it from the control panel before it will make an aux mouse stop wandering.

OK, I have a compaq nc6000 laptop. My mouse on the laptop is not working right ... pointer wonders off and won't stay in place. I bought a wireless mouse {plug and play} that does the same thing. I don't have a CD to uninstall and reinstall drivers. Is there a web site that I can download the drivers from?
