Or, you can just put a "-" on those cells that are negative, then Sum the entire column.

=SUM(A1-A2-A3-A4-A5-A6-A7-A8-A9) or =SUM(A1-(A2+A3+A4+A5+A6+A7+A8+A9)) or =A1-SUM(A2:A23)

What if you wanted to subtract several cells do you do A1-A9

Using the sum function, enter the first cell, the enter a -, then enter the second cell.

Example: =SUM(A1-A2)

To do this task, use the SUM function. Adding a negative number is the same as subtracting.

I can not figure out how to minus a #. I can do the total adding the lines, but can't for the life of me figure out how to subtract them. Thanks
