Try complete scan with Malwarebytes and Security Essentials. Also run TDSKILLER (Just google it and download) it will check for boot sector virus'. However, sounds like a java virus.

It's a bit interesting, I have received over 20 of these messages since yesterday, like every 10-15 minutes. It seemed like every time I went into CV one would pop up. But, I have not received any since 8:20 this morning and I have made no changes. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for your comments.

I run XP and Win7 and been using Microsoft Security Essentials since it first came out and I've never seen that. I have noticed that the MSS tray icon doesn't always appear when I reboot the XP machine but it's always done that. I also run Malware Bytes periodically and it comes up clean.

Most people think I have a spyware program. The truth is you need 2 or 3.

Malwarebyes and Spybot SD Are both free and among the best

Hmm is it a virus alert in red or just a pop up somewhere in the middle area of the screen. I want to determine if it is an infection that is tricking Microsoft Security Essentials into not working correctly then hiding itself from the Windows API or just a corrupt install of MSE.

It is probably the first situation. Try running Malwarebytes then give me a call @ 1-828-528-1644. I am a professional Tech with Quality PC Solutions. It is a brand new business. I'm very experienced and so is my business partner.

For the past few days I've been getting the follow pop-up from Microsoft Essentials. It appears to be coming up when I go into CV.

Exploit:Win32/CVE-2011-0626

My definitions are up to date and I do a scan daily at 3AM. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.
